Milo Gibson is an unusual Fall ripening apple that has a rich and sweet licorice/anise flavor. It comes to us by way of Milo Gipson, one of the founders of NAFEX. It’s popular amongst collectors and gets a lot of attention during apple tastings.
Milo gibson is roundish, oblate – slightly flattened stem and stern, reminiscent of a MacIntosh shape. Skin has a similar coloring as a Ben Davis: muted yellow, with a fairly solid blush of red, overlaid with some stripes of slightly darker red.
Height of tree when mature: | Small / Dwarf (6′-10′), Medium / Semi-Dwarf (8′-12′), Large / Semi-Standard (10′-16′) |
